I had to get routine blood work this morning which is no big deal except for not being able to have my coffee. I put on a pot on just before I left my house and poured it into my Butler thermos so as soon as I had the blood work done I poured myself a large cup. I am a recovering alcoholic with over 4 and a half yrs sober and I have over a yr in quitting smoking 427 days to be exact both were quite difficult to quit but absolutely necessary for my quality of life. Before I quit drinking I had an alcohol induced heart attack, the cardiologist told me that was a warning and at that point, I already quit drinking for 3 months as I tell people if I hadn't quit drinking when I did my family would have buried me before my Mom had passed away and my Dad needed me, my has been gone for over 3 yrs now. I quit smoking after finding out I have copd and once I decided I was quitting I promised myself that I would never pick up another cigarette as long as I live and I don't break promises. Our health is so very important and we need to look after because if we don't nobody else can, I smoked for 40 yrs and never thought I could quit but here I am celebrating my beautiful freedom from the nicotine poison, protecting our quits is vital to our quality of living, N.O.P.E and N.E.F

I should mention that I didn't know that I even had a heart attack for over 3 months because my hospital missed it when my husband took me into the ER, I was 3rd on the list but after waiting for 7 hrs, the doctor on call said I had an inner ear infection, the hospital was crazy busy, after the third time back, they set up a echo cardiogram which showed a heart attack so by the time I saw the cardiologist I was done with drinking but I will not give up my coffee.

I'm a proud Gram of 2 grandsons and a granddaughter and I consider myself a jack of all trades and a master of none, plus I enjoy reading and being outside and since quitting smoking breathing is so much easier because I'm not coughing half of my time sucking on a cancer stick....
