Trick or treat

Posted by Marilyn.H.July.14.14. Oct 31, 2014

Tommorow is November but today is Halloween, I'm looking forward to seeing the little goblins especially my grandsons. I believe I am just as committed today  on my 110 th day of my quit as I was on my 1st day maybe even more so I in no way ever want to get too comfortable , complacent or cocky thinking I won't slip because I know it could happen so easily. I am like anybody else I have family members and friends that smoke, they know that I have quit and are happy for me but life gets in the way and I do not want to use stress or my sister having breast cancer as an excuse to smoke. There is no excuse for me to slip and smoke so I will continue to be vigilant with my quit as long as I live and enjoy my life smoke free enjoy this Halloween everyone.

A sunny day

Posted by Marilyn.H.July.14.14. Oct 30, 2014

Hello, I thought I'd just say hello and wish everyone a great afternoon and evening 109 smoke free days for me and congrats to each of you on your quits.

Dreary days

Posted by Marilyn.H.July.14.14. Oct 29, 2014

I'm ready for the sunshine, we definitely needed this 8 inches or so of rain over the last 3 wks  but now I need the sun. I am doing good with my quit I know that each quit is different. I want everyone to be able to relax and enjoy each day that they kick the nicodemon to the curb, I hope each and every person that is quitting smoking realizes that the first 2 or 3 wks is horrible.  I know for me I thought I was crawling out of my skin at times,  I was moody , crabby, foggy and if you ask my husband I was probably down right nasty but I was and am committed to never ever picking up another cigarette as long as I live. I pray to God for the strength to get through the day and thank him for delivering it to me . stay strong and stay close to this site especially if you are tempted to slip, I am only on my 108 th day I am not by no means out of the woods so to speak. I just wanted to say to all of you especially the newbies like myself keep on keeping on, stay the course , lets keep our quits. We have worked too hard to throw it away. I really hope I am not offending anyone.  These thoughts have been on my mind the last couple of days and I'm not real good with words but I wanted to share my thoughts. Please have a relaxing evening.

Hump day

Posted by Marilyn.H.July.14.14. Oct 29, 2014

Yay it's hump day for my hubby and all the working folks that work 5 days a week . I believe today is my 106th smoke free day, I hope everyone will have a wonderful Wednesday. I am actually on my 108 th day.

Time flys

Good morning everyone, I glanced at the calendar and realized that three and a half months ago I began this journey of quitting smoking and here I am totally floored and wondering where the time has gone. It's Halloween on Saturday and Sunday is Nov 1st I really hope everyone has a wonderful smoke free day.

Hello Monday

Posted by Marilyn.H.July.14.14. Oct 27, 2014

Sunday morning

Posted by Marilyn.H.July.14.14. Oct 26, 2014

I just lost a blog I was writing maybe it wasn't meant to post, hee hee who knows. Anyway I hope everyone has a relaxing peaceful Sunday, 105 days of being smoke free today. Major housecleaning and airing out my house is on my agenda today to hopefully rid the scent of skunk and another bath for my dog Samantha Digger Jane Hartley. Today is my 105th day of being smoke free.

Posted by Marilyn.H.July.14.14. Oct 25, 2014

My positive attitude just got knocked down a few pegs, that's life. I let my dog out awhile ago into her run and crap she ran directly into a skunk, I ran into the house and got m husband , she got sprayed mostly in the face. I have a home remedy to bathe her, needless to say we're tasting skunk this evening. My house definitely will need aired out along with an extra good cleaning . Anyway I thought I'd share this with you.

I've come to realize with my count down to getting through NML doesn't necessarily mean 130 days is the magic number  and bam everything will be peachy King. For me I aim for something than I work for it and with determination I claim my prize whatever it might be and right now that's going from 104 130 days maybe it will be more but knock on wood for me so far at least I haven't had a problem with my quit since about I guess I really don't know it's been quite a while. I believe it's because I work towards something complete it and move on towards my next goal. I have to be busy with something that's just me. I really hope everyone is having a great smoke free weekend . I'm expecting my 5 yr old grandson for the day tomorrow which will definitely keep me busy .I had the 10 yr old grandson last Saturday and will again next Saturday.  Anyway enjoy the evening.

I'm on day 104.........26  to go to get to 130  and then I can say goodbye to NML and Lord willing I'll be smiling on that beautiful milestone. Have a wonderful smoke free weekend everyone.

Good morning

Posted by Marilyn.H.July.14.14. Oct 24, 2014

I can't believe in one week it's Halloween, where did the month of Oct go ??? Christmas definitely is coming two months from today is Christmas Eve.Ok enough of that talk I'm not ready. In the last 2weeks here in the maritimes we've got  over 5 inches of rain, not all at once so no problems. The rivers streams and wells are looking good, well I am on my count down towards getting to the other side of NML I'm on 103 I've only got 27 precious smoke free days to NML and then come out the other side. Enjoy the day everyone.

Posted by Marilyn.H.July.14.14. Oct 23, 2014

I'm on my 102 nd day and heading towards the 130 day milestone of plowing right through the dreaded NML and I only have 28 days to go. I am counting down and I will be there soon, have a wonderful day everyone.

I really am so very thankful for each and every one of you for your caring spirits. I am floored at all your congratulations on entering the TDC I am so honored and privileged to be a part of this community. I'm not sure if I would of made it past the first 3 wks without this site. All of you especially the wisdom of you elders gave me the advice , courage and made me believe I could continue on with my quit. THANK-YOU.  Here I am on my 10 1st day , next milestone is walking through NML and coming out the other side with a big smile on my face. Enjoy this beautiful smoke free day.

99 days ago, I began this no smoking journey and WOW here I am  on day 99, To everyone starting your quits hang on. Do not give up hang in there you can do this, it's so doable. So you feel like you are crawling out of your skin for 2 or 3 wks your moody, nasty , and maybe aren't sleeping too good. Believe me life is so worth going through all the crap to be a reformed smoker. I choose to live my life without slowly killing myself each day, I decided it was time to quit smoking when I found out in July I have COPD. I wish I had of quit sooner but oh well at least I quit, hopefully I will add a few years to my life and maybe even have a few extra bucks in my wallet. I will continue to keep my guard up each day because I never ever, ever want to get to thinking oh just one won't hurt .we all know that's a total lie, that might be the one that puts us 6 feet under. When I die I will be a non smoker, have a wonderful day everyone.

Happy Sunday

Posted by Marilyn.H.July.14.14. Oct 19, 2014

Good morning everyone, it's a beautiful sunny day and it's good to be alive especially since I'm a EX smoker and at the end of the day will have 98 days under my belt. Enjoy the day everyone.

Good morning everyone, I'm on my second coffee trying to wake up, I sent my husband to pick up the 10 yr old grandson for the day. This past week  has been difficult trying to get a good nights sleep, last Friday I had an afternoon coffee so I am pretty sure that was the problem that day. My sinuses are totally one of the reasons for not sleeping and I clench my teeth , I wear a bite plain on my upper teeth and a retainer on the bottom. I had jaw surgery back in 2001 they broke my jaw in 6 different places and  put it back together with 8 screws 4 plates and a hook and an eye .I had constant debilitating headaches. But I wasn't bright enough back then to quit, mind you while I was wired shut for 2 wks i didn't smoke. I had sinus surgery last November to straighten out the cartilage and to help me breathe again I didn't smoke the alloted time, God I wasn't very smart. I am on my 97th day of being smoke free. I'm sorry I definetly am rambling I am tired but no way in double hockey sticks will I smoke .I'll only go forwards in my my quit not backwards, the first 3 wks of my quit I thought I was totally going out of my mind and felt like I was crawling out of my skin. Feeling foggy , light hearted  and moody, grumpy, reaching for cigarettes that weren't there because I got rid of all the crap and ashtrays. Believe me, I'm never ever, ever , ever smoking again I am just tired another coffee for me and then enjoy the rest of my day with the grandson and husband.

Yay, it's Friday

Posted by Marilyn.H.July.14.14. Oct 17, 2014

I hope everyone has a fantastic, relaxing, peaceful stress free definitely smoke free blessed day . I know some of you have to work today but hopefully will have the wk end off so have the best day possible smile God loves you. 96 smoke free days that's a definite yaaaaaa.

Posted by Marilyn.H.July.14.14. Oct 16, 2014

Good morning everyone, another smoke free day shaping up  it's dark, cloudy dank, drissling and I think it's great. We desperately need the rain before the freeze up, 95 days ago today I started my journey to become an EX smoker and now I'm so close to the TDC . I'm hoping everyone has a fantastic smoke free day .

Gorgeous Temps

Posted by Marilyn.H.July.14.14. Oct 15, 2014

We may be breaking records on our temps here in NB. I guess we'll know this evening it's usually around 25 maybe 30 if we're lucky, 50 at 7am now these temps sure makes it nice for the winters wood. 94 days today i hope everyone has a wonderful day and the weather wherever you may be is decent. We are supposed to get  some much needed rain between tonight and Friday, that's a good thing. Yay for smoke free living.

I hope everyone had a wonderful smoke free day the weather here in NB the last couple of days has been beautiful so I have been outside enjoying the summer like temps and ignoring the housework. Gorgeous again tommorrow and then some much needed rain Thursday and Friday. I think I will be outside again tomorrow,  housework Once the rain arrives. Anyway I hope I get a good nights sleep tonight

A fantastic day shaping up, good morning to everyone . we are having amazing weather here in NB. I am not complaining but savoring every minute of it because I know it won't last so I better enjoy it while it can . I made the mistake of taking my mother in law out for a Tim Hortons coffee late yesterday afternoon I went to bed around 10:30pm and was still tossing and turning at 2:30 am . I can't drink coffee in the afternoons or evenings, I just can't sleep Anyway I am rambling sorry about that I believe I'm on day 93 and heading straight for the TDC. My husband is off to Prince Edward Island for a couple of days for his work . I think I will get outside later and enjoy the day and maybe go for a nice long walk . I hope everyone has a great day and smoke free  of course, it's great to be alive it sure beats the alternative life is good.

Good Morning

Posted by Marilyn.H.July.14.14. Oct 13, 2014

A paid holiday for most people today and it's going to be a beautiful sunny day my husband just helped me stir up a batch of bread and he even greased the pans for me. He's definitely a keeper anyway 92 days I'm edging closer to the TDC , I am feeling good I haven't had a crave in quite a while but I must be smart and not get too cocky with this quit because I'm in the middle of NML  and from what I've read today I might get horrific cravings from nowhere we must always be ready to smash, hit, kick whatever it takes to bury those craves. I know I'll always have to be very careful and be on guard for unexpected urges . I've worked way to hard to screw up now, I absolutely love not smoking especially first thing in the morning I'm not hacking and coughing and feeling like I'm going to cough up my lungs any second. I really hope everyone is having a great smoke free day. This being Thanksgiving Monday here in Canada I want each and every person on this EX SITE to know how much I appreciate each and everyone of you THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart, please have a great day.

I wanted to say a great big THANK-YOU to everyone for all the wonderful comments on my blog it meant so much to me. I ate way to much Thanksgiving dinner but that's ok, I'll get off my butt soon and get moving  maybe even get something done. 91 days today I'm on my way to TDC, I better get the dishes done I don't think they will do themselves unfortunately . I hope everyone has a relaxing peaceful afternoon it's an absolutely beautiful sunny gorgeous day and I have so much to be thankful for.

Posted by Marilyn.H.July.14.14. Oct 11, 2014

I am so happy  I've been doing my milestones every 30 days and here I am for my 90 day milestone or my 3 month milestone which ever it's the same thing. I believe when I made it past 3 wks I knew I was going to be a person that was never ever going to smoke again. I enjoy breathing too much. Life is good and life is way too precious for me to die with a smoking related illness when all I had to do is quit smoking and be totally out of my mind for 2 or 3 wks  to become an EX smoker. I know that I have to be very careful not to be careless and think oh 1 won't hurt me well we all should know that's total bull crap. I will not pick up a disgusting cigarette and take that chance with my hard earned quit. I grew up listening to this song, I must ask my dad who sings it since my quit it's stuck in my head but I have to smile because it doesn't apply to me anymore.  TELL SAINT PETER AT THE GOLDEN GATE I JUST HAVE TO MAKE HIM WAIT BUT I JUST HAVE TO HAVE ANOTHER CIGARETTE. I say Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa for me because thanks to all of you on this site you've helped me reach another milestone. Please have a wonderful day and wk end. XOXO especially to all of you elders.

89 th day

Posted by Marilyn.H.July.14.14. Oct 10, 2014

89 precious smoke free days today yay, quitting smoking is definitely the best decision I've made in my life . I hope everyone has a fantastic , relaxing and peaceful wk end. It's our Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada so we'll be having a huge feed on Sunday. I have so much to be thankful for, health and family are at the top of the list. Enjoy the weekend smoke free of course.

Enjoying Life

Posted by Marilyn.H.July.14.14. Oct 9, 2014

I hope everyone had a great day, I have my 5 yr old grandson staying  for a couple of days. I definitely am thrilled to death I'm not going outside to smoke every hour and saying that I will be back in a few minutes I know that he got frustrated with me and I don't smell like an old ashtray anymore I know my 10 yr old grandson is really proud of my hubby for over 5 months being smoke free and 2 more days I'll have 3 months.  I finally figured out when my quit date arrived there will never be a good time to quit so just do it and I did since then alot has happened good and bad but cigarettes will not help but they will kill, I have a sister right now waiting for surgery on the 16th of this month for breast cancer of course we won't know how bad until after. An Uncle just died of bone cancer 2 wks ago I didn't make the funeral it was 1200 miles away but life goes on. For me it will be without smoking ever again, I will treasure life because life is worth living to the fullest without slowly killing ourselves with smoking. Please enjoy the rest of your evening.  My grandson has been very patient with me writing this blog now it's time to snuggle with him it's his bedtime.

A very good morning to everyone, I'm keeping my 5 yr old grandson Mason for the next couple of days 7 / 24 . But don't be concerned about me, I am doing well and am enjoying being smoke free and i love keeping Mason. He's in the bath right now. I am on day 88, wow I find the days are flying by I might not be back on my tablet until tomorrow night. Believe me there is no turning back for me only going forward, I hope everyone is doing well enjoy the rest of the day.

More rain, yay

Posted by Marilyn.H.July.14.14. Oct 8, 2014

Good morning everyone, another inch or more of desperately needed rain, it's dark, dank and dreary but I'll take it. The rivers, streams and wells need this before freeze up, so I guess I'll just do extra housework and maybe a little baking on my 87th day of being smoke free. I am so close to my next milestone of 3 months or 90 days.

A quick HELLO

Posted by Marilyn.H.July.14.14. Oct 7, 2014

Hello everyone, enjoy today we are so blessed to be alive and be able to work or just relax or do whatever we need or want to do. My day will be my 86th smoke free day, I will keep stacking up my days.

Good Monday morning, I'm getting closer to my next milestone of 3 months or 90 days, I'm on 85. I hope everyone is doing well even if we have a rough time we must stay smoke free, I know for me there is no turning back only forward no matter what kind of a crappy day I may have the worst possible thing I could do would be smoke. Yikes no way will I ever pick up another disgusting cigarette. By the way my days are busy and I'm doing well, I just want folks in there first few days or couple of weeks hang tough it is so worth it. I am in the middle of NML and I will make it through with a huge smile have a great day everyone.

Finally we're getting a much needed rain but of course it's has to come during the Potatoe harvest. Oh well we will take what we can get we have been in a drought in our little neck of the woods. My cold feels quite a bit better today. I'm heading for my 90 day milestone, today is 84 . I hope everyone has a relaxing peaceful Sunday. Needless to say smoke free of course.

A very good morning to everyone, I made it through 100 smoke free days yay. I just did a blog a few minutes ago and I just happened to check it and it didn't post. Well I will try again. I made the TDC and now I must finish my challenge with Dale which I will, 30 more days and I will be on my way to the other side of the NML. Have a great day everyone and hopefully this blog will post, I need another coffee.

A rainy day

Posted by Marilyn.H.July.14.14. Oct 4, 2014

It's a dark dank rainy Saturday, we desperately need the rain so I'm not complaining. I am half sick with a head cold so I've been laying around watching the Beverly Hillbillies on dvds. 83 wonderful smoke free days  I'm very close to the 90 day milestone, 3 months wow. Believe it or not I find the days are flying by there's not enough hours in the day to get everything done. Enjoy the rest of your wk end I just thought I'd check in.

Houdy Doudy

Posted by Marilyn.H.July.14.14. Oct 3, 2014

Yay,  it's Friday a definite work wk end for my husband and I. Wood to put in the basement, patio furniture and the barbecue and the yard to clean up, it's time to prepare for the winter. You never know it could snow at any time ( Yak ) but if it does snow it shouldn't stay yet. But it's time to get ready and the good news is, it shouldn't take as long because we won't need to stop for SMOKE BREAKS.  Yay no more smoke breaks, I like that enjoy the weekend everyone.

I'm so close to the 90 day milestone, I can almost taste it . I must be patient tommorow is 82, patience is a virtue which isn't my strong suit but I'm learning to relax quitting smoking has and is the smartest thing I've done in my life so far because this is good for my health therefore it's good for my family .i may live longer and be able to enjoy my family a little longer. Nothing but good things will happen once you kick cigarettes to the curb and I'm not even close to being out of NML , I need to get to 130 days which I will do. There's no turning back for me, no matter what, I choose life. I know that I definetly still will have rough days but that's ok I will get through them because there's no way I will ever smoke again.  I feel energized and I like it, please have a great evening and stay the course and stay stronger than your cravings.

Life is good

Posted by Marilyn.H.July.14.14. Oct 2, 2014

Life is what we make it, good or bad it's up to us. I choose to enjoy this day, smoke free of course. Why would I want to suck on poison after 81 days of not smoking. I love being a reformed smoker, I believe my life will be so much better, enjoy your day.
