Another busy day

Posted by Marilyn.H.July.14.14. Sep 30, 2014

The last few days have been quite busy and I find myself feeling guilty for not checking in with everyone. I've been doing great 79 days of being smoke free, life is good and I can't believe that I have taken so long to quit smoking. I guess it took a health scare to brighten me up, I'm just happy that I did smarten up. Have a fantastic evening everyone.

I just wanted to say hello to everyone, I'm still here I've been super busy. 78 days at the end of the day, staying smoke free no matter what life throws at us is the key to never ever picking up another disgusting cigarette. We must remember our health and our pocket book  will thank us for sticking to our quits. Enjoy your day.

A quick hello

Posted by Marilyn.H.July.14.14. Sep 27, 2014

I hope that everyone is having a great wk end, smoke free of course. I've got the 5 yr old grandson for the night he's been with me since this morning. We  went to the park had supper at a restaurant, he's had a snack and a bath, his teeth is brushed now it's a story and time for sleep. I'll tell you I do not miss smoking especially when I'm with the grandchildren. I just wanted everyone to know I'm having a great wk end.

Good morning,  we are finally getting summer on the last wk end in Sept, I'll take these temps in the mid 70's all wk end long before  we go back to the low 50's on Monday. At the end of the day l will have 75 smoke free days in, I hope everyone has a super fantastic weekend.

Touching Base

Posted by Marilyn.H.July.14.14. Sep 22, 2014

I just wanted to say hello, I'm watching the news today is election day here in NB. My husband and I voted in the early poles a couple of weeks ago knowing he would be working in another province today. The big debate between the parties is shale gas I'll probably stay up late and see who will get in. Could be interesting. Anyway I thought I'd let you know I am still here and doing good on my 71st day.

I enjoy reading the blogs over my morning coffee it makes me so proud to read about the milestones or of someone just starting their quit having a good day or someone having their quit date set and preparing for it . Also if someone is having a difficult time or needs support I love reading the comments from the elders to give their advice and support and a lot of the time it helps me and makes my day better. I hope everyone has a relaxing peaceful Sunday.Tommorow is the first day of fall, I was chatting with elven last night and somehow I told her where I got marilynhotgram from, my beautiful daughter set up all my accounts for facebook, Emails and all that when I finally got into the 21st century back in February. I'm still pretty green with the internet so I haven't changed anything I told my daughter when I realized the handle she gave me that I wanted her to change it. She smiled and never did change it anyway I thought I'd share how that came to be. 70 days of being smoke free at the end of the day yay, enjoy the day everyone. A fantastic smoke free day to everyone.

A great day

Posted by Marilyn.H.July.14.14. Sep 20, 2014

Good evening everyone, it's been a very cold windy fallish feeling day and it's not fall until Monday. Mother Nature does what she wants when she wants like the old saying goes don't screw with Mother Nature. I'm trying to be cute and I am sure i'm doing a lousy job at it.  Even though it's been a cold raw day here in NB YOU can always find something to do, I had my 10 yr old grandson for the day he wanted to start a campfire so that's what we did this afternoon after we went out to lunch and the dollar store we hooked up with his Dad and had ourselves a campfire. We had fun and stayed warm . I made it through day 69 tommorow will be day 70. NML is trying to get under my skin but I know a lot of the dirty little tricks that NML is trying to put over on me so I plan on burying NML 6 ft under. I am so determined to live the rest of my life smoke free a reformed smoker NOPE and I plan on stacking up the days I will get past NML 130 days, get a good nights sleep everyone. ☺

Relaxing

Posted by Marilyn.H.July.14.14. Sep 18, 2014

I should get some sleep it's almost 10:30pm i stayed up till nearly midnight last night enjoying my own company. My husband left yesterday morning to do a job in Newfoundland, he puts up large tarp buildings and goes where they need him. He should be back home by the 29th of Sept hopefully the weather is good for him to get back home . My dog Samantha Digger Jane Hartley will be 11yrs old on Oct 11th I decided to put her pic on my page, we've had her since she was 6 wks old she's missing my husband Mark I'll have to give her extra attention. Anyway it's been a very good day, another smoke free day of course. I'm as prepared as I can be to win the battle and make my way through NML . I need to get to at least 130 days to get through. OK I will do it one day at a time. 68 days tommorrow, I've already had some crazy overpowering urges that came out of nowhere,  which shocked the crap out of me. I definitely understand the name NML thank you to the elders that helped me understand it better and better manage the urges, you know who you are THANK YOU. To anyone newer here than myself  quitting smoking is so difficult and hard but so worth it and so do able . We just need to want it more than anything else and live a life of freedom from smoking, that sounds so wonderful to me September 25th my husband will have 5 months smoke free. 10:55pm good night everyone.

Good morning everyone, it's a dark dreary, damp morning the temp is at 37 oh well it is the middle of Sept and I do live in Eastern Canada and we all know fall and winter can be interesting. 64 smoke free days, I thought I'd check in with everyone, have a wonderful day. I should mention at 5:am it was only 30 degrees, I never got up until 7:45 my husband writes me a note each morning before he heads off to work and usually gives me the temp.

Happy Friday

Posted by Marilyn.H.July.14.14. Sep 12, 2014

Have a fantastic weekend everyone, it's definitely a chilly  morning outside, fall is here even if the calendar says the first day of fall isn't until the 22nd of Sept. Oh well I do live in Eastern Canada , I better start a little fire and warm up the house and get my butt in gear and get some housework done. Have a wonderful wk end.

Good morning everyone, I made it to 60 at the end of the day l will be looking forward to the next milestone which for me is 90. I'm a little weird, I like my milestones to be every 30 days it gives me something to keep aiming for which is very easy for me now. Life without cigarettes is absolutely fantastic, what took me so long to brighten up and realize I was killing myself slowly bit by bit every day. I tried my first smoke at 14 started smoking full time at 15 I'll be 55 in Nov. and i just brightened up on July 14th nearly 39 yrs of smoking it certainly takes a toll on the body. Copd for me . If there's anyone new reading this wanting to quit smoking. Please just quit it will be the hardest thing in your life that you will ever do, but believe me it will be the best thing you can do for your health, your family and your wallet. Being able to breathe is worth quitting and that is my reason never to smoke the rest of my life N.O.P.E.

N.O.P.E

Posted by Marilyn.H.July.14.14. Sep 10, 2014

I love this saying, I never heard it until I joined here now i know beyond a shadow of a doubt, these words if we live by them can save our lives. It's a choice either to abide by N.O.P.E  or ignore it and shorten our lives and end up with breathing problems or worse. Anyway I've decided to live by this motto, 59 days today yay . I am looking forward to tomorrow another milestone for me. If you really want to quit smoking believe in yourself with determination you can do it. Have a fantastic day everyone.

This is the absolute best site for strength and support, I feel blessed to have found all of you. It's a beautiful sunny day, fall is definitely in the air we've had frost the Last two nights. Tonight is supposed to be a little warmer that sounds good to me. I've been doing a lot of reading on here, older blogs, newer ones, I am so pleased to be able to reach out either on a bad day or on a good day. All the blogs I've read are fantastic and believe me I have read alot and plan on reading alot more. I believe reading everything you can in the beginning of the quit or where I am now nearing the 2 month mark is important it just reinforces why we decided to quit smoking in the first place because we decided life is so much better without cigarettes. Maybe now we can actually breathe easier and possibly live a little longer. I hope nobody minds that I decided on rambling on . Thanks everyone.

Wow I repeat wow 58 days at the end of today you know it doesn't seem like 2 months ago was the beginning of a healthier choice a decision to live without cancer sticks. I have to think how many days has it been since I had a cigarette ? Once I hit the 60 day milestone. I believe I'll have to check my home page on this site to keep counting my days because I am having a hard time keeping track now. I hope everyone has a fantastic day, I just wanted to say thank you to all of you for being here for me. I will be very careful and be on guard for any triggers to pick up a disgusting stinky cigarette, I am a reformed smoker and plan on living the rest of my life as a non smoker.

A very good morning to everyone, I enjoy waking up and reading the blogs of all of my smoke free friends over coffee . I'm amazed at how far I've come since my quit date on July 14th i went back into my profile and read my blogs and the comments some of you posted to help me get through some of the early days of my quit and I thank each and everyone of you. I still have urges that pop into my head that comes out of nowhere I just give my head a shake and say to myself [ N.O.P.E.] I choose the smoke free life and being able to breathe a little easier each day motivates me to continue to go forward not backwards. I hope everyone has a fantastic Sunday, fall is in the air here in Carleton County NB, yak where did Summer go ???

I wanted to save hello to everyone, I'm going forward with my quit 52 days heading into 60 days one day at a time. The light at the end of my tunnel is burning brighter everyday, the 2 month mark is almost within my grasp and I am so blessed that I have had all of you to help me through some hard days. No going backwards for me only forward, i'm staying the course. THANK YOU EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU.
