Good Morning to you

Posted by JustSharon Aug 31, 2016

Hoping everyone is doing well this morning. I can't beleive its the middle of another week, time moves too fast! Well tomorrow I meet with my second surgeon. I want the knee replaced, tired of the pain. I sure don't look forward to daily physical therapy though, but I'll do what needs to be done, and try not to be a big baby about it. Have a great day everyone!

It's another Monday

Posted by JustSharon Aug 29, 2016

Hoping everyone had a great weekend! I did, I think I did...I slept alot. Don't know if that has something to do with the quit or not. Anyways. after a good long nap I wake full of energy! I like that!! Today I've got to clean my office. Dust is getting thick in here, papers strewn about. I've been neglecting it cuz I'd rather sit here and read and chat wiith you all. I hope that all of you have a wonderful smoke free day, my friends.

How do I

Posted by JustSharon Aug 27, 2016

change my name back to just sharon

your opinion please.....

Posted by JustSharon Aug 27, 2016

Despite all the knowledge Jake has been given and after long discussion, Jake has decided he just doesn't want to be a quitter right now. I am accepting his decision as frankly it's his to make. Jake and I earned those smober days together and I think I should start all over with just my stats. What do you think?

Keeping my quit

Till tomorrow

Yesterday

Posted by JustSharon Aug 25, 2016

Good Morning friends, its good to be smoke free! Well I saw the orthopedic doc yesterday and went over my latest xrays of both knees and it doesn't look good. I need both knees replaced. He is a surgeon, but would not perform the surgery because of my COPD. I'm set up to meet with another surgeon to go over all of it. I've had injections, didn't help much, but we will go over that all when I see him. And that was my day yesterday. Today I'm skipping out on all my chores and hanging with with my x family  and sleeping. Feels like a cold coming on. Have a great smoke free day!

Good Morning

Posted by JustSharon Aug 18, 2016

Entering our10th day! I can hardly beleive it. I'm so thankful to get showered and dressed and smell good. I don't have to spray the entire bottle of perfume on, in fact I haven't worn it in days. I don't have to suck on 40 mints  to kill the stench. I can finally go outside (my smoking space) to my back porch and listen to the birds and my waterfall without too much craving, so I don't stay long. Jake doesn'tearch for some place to pull over in the car so that we can get out and have a smoke. Sure get home faster. The list will go on I'm sure. Thanks for listening....Sharon

Have a good night everyone

  Be Smoke Free Wednesday

And on day nine...-1

Posted by JustSharon Aug 17, 2016

We will remain smoke free. Yesterday neither one of us felt very well so we slept all day and then still were in bed early. We don't mind though, made the day go awfully fast without cravings. Whatever works, HUH! We are aware of just how vulnerable we are right now, and I certainly depend on all of you. Have a great smoke free day!!~

Finally

Posted by JustSharon Aug 14, 2016

Got Jake to put on a patch. Going it alone was starting to take  its toll as far as his moods went. I was getting a little tired of having him snap at me. He even remarked that he felt calmer. YEAH! Beginning our 6th day I have a honey do list prepared for Jake and I've got laundry stacked up. So we have a few things to accomplish today. First and foremost, NO SMOKING AROUND HERE!

Today

Posted by JustSharon Aug 14, 2016

We won't smoke!

Jake and I both had a bad crave at the same time. I asked him if he wanted to smoke cuz I sure did. He saaid absolutely NO and I abided. We worked throgh the crave by leaving our back porch. All is well now, but it was scarey there for a few minutes

A simple phrase

Posted by JustSharon Aug 13, 2016

LOOK AHEAD NOT BEHIND

That is how I manage everyday when it comes to my quit. Other things too, but I recite that phrase in my mind alot.. Jake had a hard time yesterday, but did good by walking away from the craves  litterally. Don't think I don't have craves, I do. I walk away by finding my binky and a tall ice water. We are beginning day 5 and I can only pray it continues this well. We are a determined couple!

Good Morning...

Posted by JustSharon Aug 13, 2016

Have a wondeful smoke free day!

Signing out

Yet another smoke free day. I pray it was for all of you too!

Jake and I...

Posted by JustSharon Aug 12, 2016

had a few bad cravings yesterday but we made it throuh by walkng away from them and saying "we don't smoke any more." We had a lazy day and I think that lended a hand in our craves. Jake had his experience with grocery store yesterday and said it would of been so easy to bring a pack home, but he didn't and Im thankful and  so proud of him. On our 4th day of quit and Im still sucking on my binky and using the patch. Sure don't envy Jake going cold turkey! Thanks for listening. I hope you all have a wonderful day. HAPPY FRIDAY, Sharon

Look ahead, not behind

YUK

Posted by JustSharon Aug 12, 2016

This is gross and embarrasing, but does anyone cough up a bunch of junk? Is it the lungs clearing or could I have a COPD infection??

Jake and I

Posted by JustSharon Aug 11, 2016

are heading into our 3rd day of our quit. I must say that with all our previos attemps, that we are so determined this time that things are going quite easily. I'm using the patch and Jake is cold turkey. I'm so proud of him that his mood remains good. The hardest crave for both of us is that after dinner smoke, but we are getting throuh it. Jake says the craving goes quite quickly for him, me I just suck on my binky for a few minutes and the crave passes pretty quickly for me. I sit here and read ALOT till m y butt gets sore, lol. Smoking is no longer an option for either one of us! Hope you all have a wonderfl and blessed Thursday!

End of day two.

Posted by JustSharon Aug 11, 2016

Just wanted to share that Jake and I made it through our day, comletely smokeless. Hoping you all did too. Good night all.

Hope that you are all having a wonderful day!

Good Morning all

Posted by JustSharon Aug 10, 2016

Hoping everyone has a great day! Jake and I are headed into our 2nd day and I pray it goes as well as yesterday. I was surprised that craves were so minimal. I'm on my toes though and prepared should one smack me in the face. Sometime back I had written in a blog that I had found an unopened binky of my grandson (he's now 10!) I thoght Id suck on it and now have it here at my desk. Keeps the food out of my mouth and satisfies that need to suck on a cigarette. I recommend it to anyone, really. I also use the patch.

Day One Near Over

Posted by JustSharon Aug 10, 2016

We survived our first Day! There was no arging, or those sceaming craves. Our day was used to Clean the pond out back, alot of staying on this site most all the day, did some gardening and napped in between it all. Wanted to say good night to all and I'm ready for tomorrow's challenges.

Lost the nineth

Posted by JustSharon Aug 8, 2016

day of my quit today, just chose not to fight it when I found my husbands cigarettes. too make a long story short, you quitters know the emotional roller coaser I went on. I'm getting right back on the horse though and the best part of it is, my husband is quitting and will be day one right beside me!

Can someone tell me

Posted by JustSharon Aug 8, 2016

how to add graphics on a blog? Seems it should be a no brainer, but I only end up with little black squares

THE SUN DOES SHINE

Posted by JustSharon Aug 6, 2016

in Washington State and it has just perked up my 7th day quit! The overcast we have moe than not is so depressing, it was hard to be excited about my day. I'm a happy camper now.

Hope you are all conent in your quits!!

PANIC

Posted by JustSharon Aug 4, 2016

5:30 am, I've been awake for 1/2 hour and I think I'm having a bonafide panic attack!  Where did that come from? I could barely breath, I was pacing the floor, just didn't know what hit me. Is this a normal occurance?

Wouldn't quitting be divine without them?! It can be hard work to get  rid of them and often not so hard at all. Its  hard when like a child we rant and rave and want it now. Its not so hard when we come face to face with that little child and put them in their place. Too often I listen to that little child whine till I'm ready to scream myself. Why is the easy way always so hard.....just ranting, sorry.

My name is Sharon. I'm 61 years young. My body disagrees with its need of new knees and COPD, but you will rarely know me to act my age.

I am 4 days quit this time around having given up a 3 month quit 4 months ago, and then a 3 1/2 year quit some 4 years ago, so I'm not new to the routine. I say hug those quit days hard as starting one again after losing even a day is quite painful.

prayers for you all
