The crazy things we are willing to do not to smoke.

Today while driving in my car, feeling good and wanting to feel better, I thought about perfume.  So I dug in my compartment to get my favorite travel Lancome Est Belle. If you have ever smelled this perfume you have a good idea of how good this perfume can warm the senses.  Once I started putting it on it reminded me of one crazy thing I would do early in my quit...Spray perfume.  Since I was pretty much a closet smoker, before going out I would spray perfume.  When I quit that was one way I would tell my brain that it was not time to smoke.  Of course, after a while the brain catches on and you have to try something different. .

Another scenario: I had been abstaining from coffee and fried foods.  I loved coffee and fried chicken.  Roughly in the 2nd or 3 rd. week into my quit I said the heck with it.  I am having my coffee and chicken.  I put my  pj's on to  brew coffee and fry chicken. I figured putting the pj's on would deter me from going out to the store to buy cigarettes.  Yes this all sounds crazy but it worked.  I could list a few other things, but I guess you get the point.   Your quit is your number 1 priority and you should be willing to do what ever you have to do not smoke.  My motto was by any means necessary.  NOPE

Never give up never give in no matter what. NOPE will keep you free.

Not in my hand, not on my lips, not on my tongue, not in my lungs, not in my throat.   I will not choke because I will not smoke.

Do you have a mantra?

What are you willing to do not to smoke?

Plan Prepare Protect your quit.

If you are new here it is a very good idea to blog.  I found this /blogs/JACKIE1-25-15-blog/2015/02/05/one-battle-at-a-time
