Recognize Your Vulnerability

One sure way to protect your quit is to recognize when you are vulnerable and be willing to do something about it.  These last few days have been filled with ups and downs.  Life is like that.  Sometimes it levels out sometimes it doesn't seem that way. You can use the word trigger instead of vulnerable. If you have a trigger to smoke if you are around smokers, don't be around smokers.  If you have a trigger to smoke if you take a drink, don't drink. I call that https://excommunity.becomeanex.org/groups/newbie-quitters/blog/2019/08/14/keep-it-simple?sr=search&s...   I may pass on that cognac on the counter.  Oh well.  I have to recognize and not be tricked by my addiction.

It takes mindfulness to go directly back to the basics of what has kept you quit.  Part of that for me is the EX community.  So here I am doing what I did in the beginning.  Blogging.  Don't know where this is going to go but I know if you are vulnerable one sure thing you can do is come here and blog.

Another tip that worked for me is deep breathing. It seems I have been deep breathing a lot lately.  Perch my lips like a duck.  I hope they do not get stuck. /blogs/JACKIE1-25-15-blog/2019/09/26/practice-this-breathing-exercise?sr=search&searchId=3cfbe1aa-1e... Staying busy was always key, but the body does have to have rest not to be fooled that one will do it for you.  Just one will not do it.  I want to continue to breathe healthily and to have a pep in my step so smoking is not an option for me. SINAO  I  have to do something different.  I used adult coloring books that really helped me stay calm.  I still have a few on hand just in case I need it.  Gosh, sometimes our emotions can take us in so many different directions.  Just know that whatever you are going through will not last forever and NOPE no matter what will keep you free.  So Breathe, Come here, Blog, Vent, Read all that is going on.  You are not alone.  The EX Community is one of a kind...So USE It.  I do. I just took another deep breath.

My mantra: Not in my hand, not on my lips, not in my mouth, not on my tongue, not in my lungs, not in my clothes, not up in my nose, not in my throat, I will not choke because no matter what I will not smoke. Good night all.  God Bless,

Stay Close, Hang tough, Never give in Never give up.  One day at a time.  1876 days free.  The journey continues...
