How can I sugar coat it to make you feel better about your addiction?  How can I make you understand that when you relapse it is because you choose to do so because you are an addict?.  How can I "lovingly" make you see that there should not be any EXcuse for picking up again?  How can I tell you kindly and nicely that you need to learn about your addiction when you keep “slipping and sliding”?  Maybe this way:  The law of addiction Administration of a drug to an addict will cause reestablishment of chemical dependence upon the addictive substance."

If I were a heroin addict would you pat me on the back and say good try, that was a “slip”, now let’s try again? Would you prefer for me to learn and relearn that I have a choice and I need to learn to make the right choices? To use or not to use.  If I am a crack cocaine addict would you tell me that it is okay if you smoked crack again it is just a “little slip” or would you tell me that I had a choice?   Because smoking kills slowly there is a tendency not to have the same urgency as any other addiction. Lets get real and stop the sugar coating. Bottom line SMOKING KILLS and an addict is an addict is an addict, undeniably so, no matter what subsance it is.  "Take what you can use and leave the rest".
