The journey never ends

The Elders have had a major impact in support of my quit.  I remember so many things they would tell us. Summer Rain would always say “And the journey continues”.  This statement is so on point.  Even though we celebrate milestones, I would look at my numbers and think that it just wasn’t enough compared to the number of years that I smoked.  Now at 567 days I really feel like I have come a long way.  This new awareness is part of the journey that never ends.  I have grown in some areas and will continue to do so.   Even though we count them, growth is not truly measured by the number of days smoke free but the strength to continue in the journey.  So no matter what day you are on in your quit, know that you have embarked on an amazing life of freedom if you never turn around.

Guilia would always say“ for every test or trial that you go through you will become stronger if you don’t smoke".  Along with that you learn something new about yourself.  You recognize areas in your life that can improve.  There are no limitations in this journey so allow yourself to be open to change.  If so,  all aspects of your life will become better.  Isn’t that worth looking forward to?   So go through the trials, test, and the tough times but never give up. Thank God for the journey because it will never end.  Whether it is learning to care more about ourselves, accepting how special and unique we are or being able to forgive and apologize to move forward. Better yet, just handling life crisis without smoking we become wiser.

I just crossed a fork in the road leading to a promise of new adventures.  With an attitude of gratitude, I am thankful for the inspiration, motivation, education, and challenges that being here have opened my mind to change to make my life better, without smoking. The journey continues, with bumps, humps, curves, and inclines in the road but it doesn’t matter what day we are on as long as we continue to move Forward ,Onward and Upward.

Thanks EX.
