Seeing Yourself Through Kind Eyes

When you look in the mirror, do you see all those things that make you sparkle?  The delightful smile....the twinkling eyes?  When you get dressed in the morning, do you see the strong body....the muscles in your legs?  Do you delight in your coffee making skills?  Do you enjoy the fresh smell of nature after rain?

Or.....

Do you avoid looking in the mirror because of your wrinkles....bad teeth....crazy hair?  Do you get dressed in slightly baggy clothes so no one can see you've put on some pounds?  Do you absentmindedly make and drink coffee as you silently plan your day....forgetting to look at the beauty of nature?

Mindfulness.  Being present in the moment.  Knowing you are good enough just as you are.  These things matter.....they make life mean something.  Taking pride in your quit.  Feeling your courage, your commitment, your integrity....honoring who you are.  These things also matter.  They make life mean something.

You can choose, of course.  But don't dismiss yourself so easily.  You matter.  You make life mean something to so many of us.  Value that.  Value yourself.  Love who you are....wrinkles and all.  You are perfect just as you are.  We all know that....but you have to as well. 

Be kind to yourself, my friends.  Be gentle.  Treat yourself as you are the most important person in the world....because you are.  Say the truth that you carry in your heart.....be silly, be kind, be weird.
