Peppermints help with quitting

Quitting hasn’t been easy, I went from cigs to vapes to quitting everything cold turkey! Peppermint has been a great deterrent to very time I get a urge to smoke I pop a peppermint, or I’ll color or write anything to occupy my time until the urge passes

Thanks for sharing @Redgirlthapoet , congratulations on your quit , delaying , distracting , discussing , deep breathes , drinking water , lemon water , things like that all help . Looks like you have found a tool in peppermints that helps you manage your cold turkey quit . My father and brother also quit cold turkey years ago using peppermints and toothpicks . I think writing also is a great way to help yourself, good job , keep going. You may add on extra tools or it might be all you need .. looks like you are very serious about your health and you are certainly being rewarded quickly and even though it’s hard at times you know the way out is through . Keep going . Keep writing. Looking forward to updates as you journey .

@Bear1961 Welcome to the Ex and congrats on your decision to quit.  I see you've been reading and responding to other posts on the site.  That's a great way to prepare for your quit.

Consider creating your own post at My Journal/Blog to introduce your self to the community and receive lots support.  The Ex is a great place for advice, information and support.  This link is a great place to get you started.

I've read you've attempt to quit in the past.  It took me 50 years and multiple attempts.   When I found the Ex I learned how to quit for the first time and how invaluable support is from fellow quitters.   I don't think I really wanted to quit in the past so I'd only make it for about a week.  I thought I should quit, but that didn't work for me.  I made the decision for my health this time and recently celebrated 6 years.

You can do it too.   Take the time to educate yourself about nicotine addiction and put a quit plan in place.  It's worth the effort to be successful.

Reinforce your quit by joining many of us on the Daily Pledge to stay on track one day at time.

Stay busy and stay close.
